Always research first, but also take the time to go there and visit the places. That's what exploring is all about;. Spend time in the fields and on the streets where it all happened.
Come with us and let's go out there! We are specialised in taking families of soldiers to the former battlefields. We are not guides. We won't tell you the "amazing" stories and we won't make it bigger than it is.
We are explorers and after researching we take you out there, visit the farms where he fought, where the enemy had strongpoints and to the places where men were temporarily buried. Let us know what you want to see, learn and experience and we will tell you what to expect.
Research
We love to research. Literature, war diaries, maps, documents and whatever we can find. Reading is simple, but it's all about connecting the dots. Although Google Streetview can help, having your boots on the ground, at the places where it happened, is just as important as the reading itself.
Exploring tours
Going out there is an experience. We bring families to the places where their family member fought. The church he saw, the fields he crossed, the farm he attacked. We will never be able to experience what he experienced, but we can walk in his footsteps and be with him in spirit.
